Ask most people in a home based business and they’ll tell you they’re on their way to a huge income working from home. However, if your goal is to make $100,000 a year or more you’re going to have to start off with much smaller goals if you ever really want to get there. In this article we’re going to be talking about small goals and how they can build up to huge results.

Making 6 figures a year working from home is a lot like losing weight. You have to do it one pound at a time. If you’re planning on losing 50 lbs. you run the risk of getting completely overwhelmed and giving up halfway. However, if you focus on losing 1 or 2 lbs. a week your goal will seem much more doable and it will keep you focused and motivated until you reach your big goal.

So instead of only thinking about making $100,000 a year why not focus on making $500 a month. Then once you’ve met that goal $1000 a month and so on and so on until your at your 6 figure goal.

It’s also important to remember that not all goals have to be monetary. A very good goal could be to call 30 people 5 days a week about your business. Or make 5 new Youtube videos a week. You could also make your goal to sign up 4 new people this month, that’s about a person a week… very doable!

When you focus on smaller things that you can accomplish faster you’ll get that feeling of meeting a goal and feeling accomplished more and more frequently and that will be the fuel you’ll need if you’re going to be successful long term.

So don’t look at your goal as a giant mountain to be climbed. Just wake up every day and take a few steps in the right direction. It might seem like you’re never going to get there but if you’re consistent and focused on the smaller goals you’ll reach the top in no time!
