So here are a few helpful hints to help you find little pockets of time to work your business in the midst of your ultra busy life.

One thing that has been extremely helpful with me and my business has been to write down how I spend all of my time during the week. Now I don’t just mean “home” or “at work” but every single thing that you do during the day.

For instance I found that during a certain day of the week I was watching 3 hours of TV and on another night I was just surfing the internet for a couple hours not really accomplishing anything.

I promise you that even if you have the busiest of schedules if you do this exercise you’ll find a ton of time you never even knew you had!

Another thing you can do to find more time for your business is to get up one hour earlier in the morning or go to bed one hour later at night. Of course I don’t want you to be dead tired during the next day but one hour isn’t really that much and you can get a lot accomplished during that time.

A lot of people find it to be very effective to work their home based business on their lunch break from work. If you get an hour for lunch you can eat for the first 15 minutes and then make calls for the last 45. You can have some good conversations in 45 minutes.

Remember that finding time to work your home based business is all a matter of desire. If you really want to make it happen you can do it no matter what your schedule looks like while others can have a ton of time but very little desire and therefore get nothing done.

Make the choice to find time every single day to work on building your business. A home based business is like nothing else because you build it once and it will take care of you for a very, very long time. Make some small sacrifices now for a huge payoff in the future.

If you are a part of a good home based business and you’re working hard every week to achieve your goals there is no doubt that you will find success. So the question is… are you ready for success when it comes?

For some people becoming extremely successful can end up even worse than no success at all. Why do I say that? Because making more money opens the doors for you to make more mistakes. Start taking the steps now to prepare yourself for your impending success.

Don’t raise your cost of living completely

Many people raise their cost of living way too much once they start making money. Yes, it’s natural to want to enjoy a nicer car or house or take more vacations. But, try to live under your means not AT them and certainly not over them.

You see this with famous people all the time. They go from meager lives to lives or extravagance and pretty soon they are living well over what they can afford. You may think this could never happen to you but it’s easy to do. Don’t make this mistake… remember you can be rich and still living paycheck to paycheck and nobody wants that.

Save, save, save!

When you have a steady paycheck coming in it might be hard to remember to save a little but it’s a must if you want to be prepared. Remember no matter how much you’re making now it could always change! This is not to scare you but it’s always better to have more money saved than you need than not to have enough.

Try to save at least 15% – 20% from your paycheck every month. That way if anything should happen you know you’ll be covered.

Make smart investments, not foolish ones

Investing your money is a good idea as long as you know what you’re investing in. Don’t go into something without really checking it out first.

Taxes

Make sure you are doing your taxes correctly and not cheating the government out of a dime! It will come back and bite you in the rear if you aren’t doing your taxes correctly with your new found income. This is the one thing you don’t want to ignore if you don’t listen to anything else in this article.

Make sure you’re ready for all the success you’re going to be having with your home based business. Follow these tips and strap yourself in because your home based business is going to be the ride of a lifetime!

That does not mean however that they have to be boring and mediocre. In this article I’m going to be discussing the difference between setting realistic goals and having low expectations because it really is a slippery slope for some people. For example, saying you want to make $100,000 a year in your home based business is a totally acceptable goal in fact it is the ultimate goal for many people.

Now, saying you want to make $100,000 in your first 6 months is just not a realistic goal. When you set goals that are completely unrealistic you set yourself up to fail. When you fail it will be very, very hard for you to get started again and because of that one unrealistic goal you might just give up forever.

So that being said obviously you want to think about your goals and understand just how much work they’re going to take. You’ll also want to give yourself a reasonable timeframe to complete it in. $100,000 in two years would be a good example. It’s something that you can totally accomplish and it’s in a reasonable timeframe.

The difference between that and having low expectations is that when you set realistic goals you’re still reaching out of your comfort zone and grabbing for more. When you keep your expectations for yourself too low it means you don’t believe in yourself enough to truly believe that you can accomplish great things.

$30,000 a year is a good goal to start out with. However, if that’s your ultimate goal that’s saying that you’re not worthy or able to make any more and that’s really sad. Expect great things for you and your life just don’t wish for them overnight.

Push yourself to meet goals you never thought you could have high expectations for yourself but be realistic about the hard work and effort it’s going to take to get you there. That’s the recipe for success!
